Sensitive situation in University
I am sitting at the fourth row, facing towards the whiteboard of a class containing 70 wooden seats arranged in rows with only one aisle in center. Around me are 50 students with 50 different faces. Why ? Because friends, the result of fall semester had been announced yesterday and everyone had seen his/her result. The first row which contains students usually with confident faces seems unconfident. Eyes of two of the girls in front were glittering. It seems that they wept an hour ago or about to weep sooner or later. Except them, everyone was silent. No one was even starting a discussion with each other. Everyone was just like a boy bearing his pains in his own heart and is afraid to say something as if the pain got severe, it would break the heart and he would start weeping. They seemed to have a strong mind to control their heart. Then comes the second row, containing boys and girls arranged like a pencil colour box, with different moods and gestures. I saw a girl bending her head forward and peeking if someone like her would be interested in starting a conversation in such sensitive situation. And there is a boy bended too, in the same row, looking here and there and pretending to ignore the peeking girl. Everyone has his/her own story. The rest are just swiping their notebooks with a sad-like confused face as they have taken oath to complete the course within weeks. (The result is announced after the commencement of classes of the next semester) Then comes the third row. They are like the shining stars except the two boys. Shining? Because they got what they believe they would get, a good Grade Point Average (GPA). The two? They are in angry and sad mood. They got the bad GPA, the 3.4 out of 4. They believe they deserve more and accusing the teachers for their bad result. 3.4 out of 4 and still sad? Well they haven't seen the fourth row in which I am sitting. This row and fifth row is almost the same, a bunch of boys and girls chanting in a pleasant mood laughing and sharing their experience in the previous semester. Look! A boy is astonishingly happy as he got 2.9 GPA even he attempt the final papers without preparation. Other students have covered him as he brought the Koh-i-Noor all by himself. In short every row has a different story but, but wait! The sixth row, I missed that. I am very much sorry for them. Sorry for their result, sorry for their luck. They loved to play sports, love to take part almost in every extra curricular activity related to the field. They are talented as no one is but where as class participation is concerned, they don't like to obey the teachers commands. They are very much talented as many of them are freelance teachers . But unfortunately "A university teacher only judges one in the class".
They have two lives, one in class and one in the world. But sooner many of them will be going to live a life only. They are going to die. The result made their semester of eight to twelve courses and even missing a single course would restrict them to the same year, they would be separated from us. Ooh there is a boy from the first row talking to the boys in the last row and Wow! Each of them is smiling as nothing happened to them. They are brave as they're happy in even such condition but seriously, there should be something in the university for such boys too. A special treatment section for sure. Now the boy from the last row is rushing to the first row and, Oh Man! The teacher is there, the class starts and smart phone's not allowed. So see you later friends at any other place, at any other stage of life.
Take care !
